Slow Down and Simplify in OBX, NC

If you are inspired to travel, enjoy nature, or live more simply, consider a stay at my cottage, Gypsea’s Sanctuary, in the beautiful Outer Banks, North Carolina. When I travel the world, I stay in small, quaint guest houses and hostels, avoiding luxury hotels and resorts. There are many reasons for this, including benefits to the local community and the environment and a more authentic and heartfelt experience. I offer my home in OBX to guests year-round to inspire them to slow down and enjoy simple, mindful living.

Outer Banks, NC, offers sweeping sandy beaches, wooded trails, and sand dune parks with a cozy, small-town vibe. Stay within walking distance of the beach and many restaurants and shops in Kill Devil Hills.

Share good vibes, sleep well, and embrace beach bliss in one of two Gypsea’s Beach Houses, just a short walk from the beach. This home is digital nomad-friendly with great Wifi! Both units are part of my adorable beach cottage, each with its private entrance and parking. The sanctuary offers a shaded backyard with a fire pit and swings hanging from the large oak trees, an outdoor shower, beach cruisers, and yoga mats. Responsible Travel

I maintain an eco-friendly home, offering guests a way to travel responsibly and respect the nature of our beautiful islands. When possible, I choose eco-friendly, natural, and chemical-free household products and cleaners. Recycle bins are provided, and guests are encouraged to leave the beaches clean and free of litter. I offer recommendations for unique restaurants and shopping so you can help support local businesses. Enjoy your visit, and leave OBX with killer karma!

Look no further than Chels place to stay in “Kill Devil Hills OBX” The units is spotlessly clean, stylish and has such great positive vibes, My husband and I are on a 6 week honeymoon and are so glad to have spent two nights at Chels place. Location is superb close to places to eat and drink (we only walked or bikes ) Chel is a fantastic host so fast with communication, local tips and anything else you might be curious about. Chel went beyond our expectations to make our stay memorable, She had a bottle of bubbly in the fridge waiting for us plus packets of nuts, chocolate muslie bars and coffee for us to enjoy :) Chel and I bonded over mutual hobbies and I really enjoyed her company, Chel even organized a little night out with a couple of her friends that we tagged along to and experienced and had such a wonderful time. The is no where else in OBX that would top this location and hospitality so book in you won’t regret it :)

Upon walking into Chel’s place we couldn’t get over how cute it was. She put a lot of little special touches into this home. We came as two couples with two, two year olds. We had plenty of room and there was so much space with the back deck, back yard, and our own rooms, and bathrooms that we never felt crowded. The girls loved all the hand painted rocks and and being told what each one said. We cooked a lot of meals from home because the place was practically fully stocked. We lucked out with beautiful weather and the beach was just a couple minutes from us with public beach parking. My friends and I are already talking about coming back. Chel was also very good at giving us recommendations, and was quick to respond with any questions we had. Thanks so much!
