FAQs
How do 1:1 sessions work?
Sessions are offered virtually through video chat or via phone sessions if needed. Each session will be different and can include a medley of talk-based, meditation, breath, reiki, sound, and/or movement therapies. You will be amazed at how quickly you will set your own goals and plan your self-care and actions for positive outcomes. It may just take one session to feel you are back on track with your goals and happiness. Some clients prefer 2x weekly sessions, while others may need just a one-time-only session.
What’s the difference between healing sessions and therapy?
Therapists are healthcare professionals (western medicine) who work with emotional and mental disorders and help you to work through trauma and mental health challenges, including depression and PTSD. They are important partners in your well-being.
My healing sessions are based on yoga, ayurveda, and Reiki (eastern ancient wisdom) to help you understand and clear negative thought patterns, relax and regulate your nervous system, and create new habits and energy shifts that support a desired lifestyle. Many of us feel “stuck” in life or that we are not where we want to be but do not have a clinical need for therapy. In this case, the deep inner work supported by meditation and mindfulness techniques will improve your overall well-being.
Please note that mental health conditions are outside of my scope of practice. My sessions will help with clinical depression and other mental illnesses, but all should directed under the supervision of your primary care provider.
